We had some fun a couple of weekends ago as we were invited to come along to the 'Border Wars' Blood Bowl Tournament to see how it played and to bring along some terrain and miniatures - we helped out with some prizes too.
To be honest, we were not that familiar with Blood Bowl, we've played Dreadball quite a lot in the past, but that does seem pretty different. We were surprised by the variety of teams (and tactics) not to mention the fantastic 'dugouts' to house the teams. A particular favourite were the Greenfield Grasshuggers - a team of Halflings with a couple of tree men. - their dugout was fantastic - all painted by little ninja painting (check out their work on facebook) . There were some great orc teams and the undead were very atmospheric.
It was a whole day of battles between Duke's gaming representing Wales and Forest of Dean Blood Bowl Team for Gloucestershire. Over the day there were several matches with the FoDBB Team emerging victorious. It was a lot of fun and it is aways good to see different options for tabletop games - as well as take a look at other painted models. FoDBBL has some very talented painters on their team and they are up for taking commissions so that is useful to know.
Shout out to Harrison Macey ( check out his painting commission @big_mace_miniatures for organising and participating!. Great day out for all involved.
